1. Acceptance
By accessing or using fun.study, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. What the service provides
fun.study is a browser-based interface for organizing user-selected cartridge files, disc images and DOS game archives, then running them with locally served WebAssembly emulator software. The site does not provide games, BIOS files, game artwork, cloud storage, user accounts or a download service.
The service may change, add or remove features as the project develops.
3. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the files you choose, the way you use the service and compliance with rules that apply to you. You agree that you will:
- only use files and content that you have permission or another valid right to use;
- use the service for personal, noncommercial purposes;
- not use the site to infringe intellectual-property, privacy or other rights;
- not attempt to disrupt, overload, bypass security controls or interfere with the service or other users; and
- not represent fun.study as the publisher, seller or distributor of a game.
4. Local files, saves and backups
Games, an optional PlayStation BIOS, library metadata, emulator saves and preferences are stored by your browser on your device. fun.study does not offer a backup or synchronization guarantee. You are responsible for keeping external copies of files and saves that matter to you.
Clearing site data, changing hostname or browser profile, using private browsing, removing the browser, device failure or automatic browser cleanup may remove local data. Asking for persistent browser storage reduces some cleanup risk but does not guarantee permanent retention.
5. Software and intellectual property
The fun.study frontend and bundled emulator components are supplied under their respective open-source or source-available licenses. Those licenses continue to govern the relevant software. See the open-source software inventory for every shipped package, version, source location and restriction.
Names, logos, games and other material belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners. Reference to a console or file format describes compatibility and does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
6. Privacy
The application has no account system, analytics or ROM upload endpoint. Its local storage behavior and ordinary hosting requests are explained in the Privacy information.
7. Third-party links and software
The site may link to documentation, source repositories or issue trackers maintained by other organizations. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. fun.study is not responsible for their availability or content.
8. Availability and compatibility
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Browser APIs, device resources, emulator behavior and game compatibility vary. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, hosting incidents, browser changes or project updates.
9. No warranties
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, data retention or compatibility.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the operator and project contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses arising from use of or inability to use the service, including loss of local files, save data, progress, device time or access.
Nothing in these terms limits a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the service or its operating model changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when a new version is published. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
